Dr Grace Pearson

Lead for CMOP 

Grace is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol and Honorary Trust Grade doctor at the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath.

Grace recently completed a PhD focussed on the evaluation and innovation of undergraduate education in geriatric medicine, funded by the Dunhill Medical Trust. Grace is Secretary for the Geriatric Medicine Research Collaborative (GeMRC) and the National Research Collaborative (NRC).

Dr Tomas Welsh

Deputy Lead for CMOP (Assessments)

Tom is a Consultant Geriatrician at the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath and Deputy Director of the Research Institute of the Care of Older People (RICE), Bath.

Tom’s clinical work is split between the RICE memory clinic, community geriatrics and the Assessment & Comprehensive Evaluation Older People’s Unit at the RUH. His research interests focus on medical co-morbidity in people with dementia and medicines optimisation. He has had formal roles in medical education since 2012.

Dr Emily Henderson

Emily is Professor for Ageing and Movement Disorders at the University of Bristol and Consultant Geriatrician at the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath.

Emily runs a translational portfolio of research in Ageing at the University which includes phase III and IV trials in Parkinson’s and neurodegenerative conditions and improving education in geriatric medicine. She is a former Vice President for Academic Affairs for the British Geriatrics Society (to 2023) and West of England NIHR lead for Ageing.
